I recorded this in Ivan’s garage a few years ago. I didn’t know anything about recording, which is evident in a few hilarious moments throughout the song (the last digital cymbal crash is hilarious!). We re-recorded this with frenchie, but he nixed any use of tambourine in our recordings… I don’t know what it was… I just needed that tambo… It just seemed like a different song after that. We see each other around town every now and then, but we don’t really have much to say to each other than small talk… It might sound sad but I’ll always have a place in my heart for this poorly recorded garage demo of my first song.
Tour time again
I’ve had a roll of 120 in a holga for most of the last year, and I kept forgetting about it.
I got around to developing it, and it had some photos from last year when we went on a midwest tour with Wine and Revolution.
I’m pretty excited for our west coast tour coming up… come take photos with us!

Before we left on tour, our friends had a Derby party:

John, looking cool!
Oh and some inevitable holga-delic mistakes:

You’ve asked him to sing. So he will sing.
Here’s a photo from Adrian Landon Brooks’ art show last night, at the Birdhouse on East Cesar Chavez. Adrian’s art was fantastic, colorful and abstract, and Mitch played a few International Waters songs by himself outside.
Alex @ the mohawk!
Everyday people.
Kathleen, my girlfriend, was dumping a bunch of photos from her digital camera onto my computer last night, and I found lots of candid shots of us boys, kinda just hanging out doing the things that take up our time outside of International Waters, etc. Here is but two: Above, Mitchell, hanging out with one of a dozen hens that roam the backyard of our little house/studio/practice space in North Central Austin. The other was just a photo of a latte I had made at work (Thunderbird Coffee on Koenig Lane), and I guess she was impressed enough to take a picture. We’re all big advocates for coffee, and I spend a lot of time at the shop, so I thought I’d post this, since it’s one other passion of mine, beyond International Waters. -Ryan
